Worldchampionships 2012 Ebensee/Traunsee Austria.

This years Worlds were held in a beautifull location at Ebensee/Traunsee in Austria. Great sailing venue, beautifull mountain view, good organization and the best H-boat sailors together, what more can you ask.

But one was missing. The President, that’s me, was not present! I missed the Worlds for the first time since 1998. I had a good reason though. A babygirl was born the 17th of May. I also had a perfect backup in the vice President Michael Pochhammer. A big thanks to Michael for stepping forward.

The actual Worldchampionships included seven races and some of them in very difficult sailing conditions. There was rain, sunshine, wind and no wind, but never the less the conditions were the same for all sailors. After long sailing days we had a returning Worldchampion Morten Nielsen from Denmark with his crew for almost 30 years Niels Porch and Per Hansen. Second place went also to Denmark with Mads Korsgaard and crew Uffe Dreiser and Anders Rydlöv. Third was Austrian Stefan Frauscher, Worldchampion from year 2002 the last time the Worlds was held in Ebensee/Traunsee, with his crew Hans Frausher and Peter Heininger. Congratulations!

I also want to have this opportunity to thank the Segelclub Ebensee/Traunsee, the sponsors, volunteers, judges, all the official and everybody who many ones more possible to have a good Worlschampionsip regatta.

This early time in May for the Worlds gives us all a good possibility for many more races this season and opportunity to win all these medalist and to prepare your teams for next years Words in Thisted in Denmark. Should you all have a great sailing season.
